It looks like Nintendo will be releasing yet another iteration of the Nintendo DS soon, named the DSi XL. Like it's name implies, the DSi XL will be a larger version of the currently available DSi. The screens have been changed from 3.25 inches diagonal to 4.2 inches, though the resolution remains the same. We guess this will be aimed towards people who'd rather use their DS for web browsing or reading novels. The DSi XL will also apparently come preloaded with several DSiWare games and applications, but Nintendo has not yet made clear what these games will be. This really seems like a strange move from Nintendo though, especially seeing as it wasn't that long ago that the first DSi was released. It will be interesting to see if this goes over well with fans, and more importantly- people who bought the first DSi. The Nintendo DSi XL will be available in early 2010. Big titles on the way-What a time to be a gamer... there are so many games coming out we don't know where we'll get the time to play them! A lot of big games have recently had release dates spilled, so let's have a look at what we can look forward to... An under the radar DS game that deserves your attention is coming in October called Nostalgia- a Japanese RPG in the style of Final Fantasy and Golden Sun. Nostalgia is being made by Matrix Software, the guys behind Final Fantasy III and IV DS- so these guys know their stuff. Look out for this one, it's gonna be huge. Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars was a massive hit on the DS, and it looks like it's going to be even better on the PSP when it's released in October. Featuring redone graphics, music and new missions to fit the advanced hardware of the PSP, this one is looking fantastic. It's been in development for five years, but it looks like Final Fantasy XIII is almost here. Recently confirmed for release on December 17 in Japan, it's also been finally confirmed for an English release in early 2010. It's gonna go fast though- so pre-order now to save yourself the disappointment of missing out! Okami sequel on the way... for the DS?Okamiden - CapcomRemember Okami? It's an action RPG for the PlayStation 2 and Wii and if you haven't played it, then you should. It's an amazing game with a beautiful art style, and one of the best games of the last generation. Those of you who have played it will no doubt be pleased to hear there is a sequel in the works for the Nintendo DS titled Okamiden. Not much is known about the sequel at this point apart from that it will have the same gameplay style as the original, and you will play as a wolf cub named Chibiterasu. D'aww. He's so adorable. This is one to watch out for, if it's anything like the first Okami, then we can expect great things! Okamiden will be out in Japan early next year, with an Australian release to hopefully follow not long after. Scribblenauts (finally) gets a release dateScribblenauts -Ever heard of Scribblenauts? It’s an upcoming Nintendo DS puzzle-platformer and it looks absolutely amazing. The big idea of Scribblenauts is to solve puzzles in the game by summoning objects. For example, theres a ledge thats too high for you to climb up- write “Ladder” on the touch screen and the game will create a ladder for you. Maybe you don’t want a ladder, maybe you want a trampoline instead. Maybe you want a helicopter. Maybe you want to ride a dragon up there. The amazing thing about Scribblenauts is that you can do all of this- and more- due to the game having tens of thousands of objects available to use. You can use them for solving puzzles, or you can use them for fun. Maybe you feel like conjuring a Kraken to do battle with a Dinosaur- you really can do anything, and we’re really excited about this, it’s gonna be huge. Anyway, after months of waiting, Scribblenauts has finally been given a release date. Scribblenauts will be available from September 16th, so be sure to pre-order!
