According to most gamers, the two key reasons people play games is fun and relaxation.

83% of parents with children under 18 play games - this figure is up from 70% in 2008.

Parents are generally positive about the benefits of game playing by their children.

Family games now account for 19% of all game sales.

Female gamers now make up 47% of gamers.

Gametraders has found that the average age of a game player is constantly changing due to a wider audience choosing to play games as part of their fun and relaxation. Currently the average age in in the mid 30s, but gaming is enjoyed among all age groups.

 Approximate set up costs is $200,000 for strip shops and $400,000 for shopping centres including stock, outgoings plus working capital (plus GST)
